Welcome to the website of On the Viewscreen, a project of the University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health. You may subscribe to updates to your right. We are exploring the question:
Should attention to religious and spiritual (R/S) factors be included in teaching and research at the 50+ schools and colleges of Public Health in the United States? If so, how?
These questions arise because a growing body of empirical evidence links religion and/or spirituality to multiple health outcomes, as well as to health behaviors, social connections, and other plausible mediating factors. But there is little consistency in how these topics are addressed in public health curricula.
